[Scooter Rental]
In Thailand, as long as you know how to ride a scooter and are over 20 years old, you can rent one. It is recommended to rent a "no-gear, fuel-up-and-go" scooter from your hotel. This way, you won't need to deposit documents or leave a guarantee, and the rental charges are more flexible, allowing you to return the scooter conveniently when you check out.
1) The rental fee is typically charged on a daily basis (based on check-in and check-out time), around 300 baht per day. (1-day rental fee + 150 baht for fuel = 450 baht. If shared by two people, the transport cost is just 225 baht, which is very cheap and convenient.)
2) Both parties should check the condition of the scooter, start the engine, rev the throttle, and test the brakes.
3) In case of an accident, the renter is responsible for repairing the scooter and compensating for any injuries.
4) The fuel tank is full when renting the scooter, and it must be returned full as well.
[Riding Tips]
1) Thailand drives on the left, which is opposite to the right-hand driving in Taiwan. So, always keep in mind: keep to the left, keep to the left, keep to the left...
2) Although many locals don't wear helmets, for your safety, always wear one; it's also best to take it with you when you stop.
3) Stick to the side of the road, avoid overtaking, and always follow traffic rules such as traffic lights and speed limits.
4) If there is a parking lot (whether public or private), park your scooter there for better security.
5) If you are at an intersection without traffic lights and need to turn, be cautious of oncoming traffic.
